86 245 Crazy dash light problem 200

Um, nope, can't say that I have. But, since you really seem to ahve a handle on the nature of the problem (shorting at the fues panel), I would suspect shorts to have corpped up elsewhere. Simply because it would be easiest to do, I would probably replace either the main circuit board of the instrument pod, or the entire instrument pod. I note you're in Massachusetts, so the next time the sun comes out (if it ever does again), I would head over to the bone yard and junk up a pod.

Allw me, please, to plug my local favorite at this point, as we are in the same state. Henry's in Blackstone has so many 240s that, when I went to get a hood last month, not only did I have a fine selection of the right part, I had my choice three in the right COLOR. You'll be able to get the board, or the whole pod, with or without guages, without too much trouble there.

As I mentioned, I would start with the instrument pod because it will be easiest. Besides, I figure that a circuit board would be more prone to burning out than the wiring itself. Now, if that doesn't solve the problem, I could only assume it's inside the wiring harnesses that go to the dash. If that's the case, all I can say is "My condolences."
