I'm ready to attack my AC leak (though I haven't found it yet).
I put dye in the system along with a full charge of R134 and some oil (not positive it was the right type of oil - a little confused on that issue). The system ran well for about 2 months and I could NOT find the leak. Then I did not drive the car for about 2 weeks and now the AC no longer works (shorting the low pressure switch does cause the compressor to kick on - so low R134).
My first question is, does vacuuming the system also remove the oil, or is there a different proceedure to clear out the oil from the system?
What type of oil should I be putting in the system? Should it be a seperate can or the kind that comes combined with the R134?
Are there rings in the compressor that might be leaking that can be replaced? If they are leaking, should I be able to see the dye around them, or would it be inside the compressor itself?
Thanks
