Driving rear wheels off the ground question 900

The 94 965 (solid axel) has a really annoying vibration above 70 mph that gets unbearable above 75. I've replaced almost every conceivable culprit in the front suspension, steering, brakes and balanced 2 sets of wheels multiple times. Its still there. I suspect its coming from the back but I'm not sure. To isolate the problem I want to drive the rear wheels in the air. The plan is to take the car to an empty parking lot with lots of room in front of me if the back wheels fall to the ground, and place the rear axel directly on jack stands. This way the rear suspension and drive axel will be in its normal riding height. Obviously I will use blocks on the front tires while they are on the ground. Then put the car into drive and turn the wheels up to 80mph. If it vibrates as it usually does at that speed then its coming from the back. If it doesn't vibrate then I missed something it the front. Any flaws, concerns, things I missed in this plan? I'll be ordering tune up parts for the 240 very soon and I want add anything I'll need for this repair to the order. FAQ definitely gave me some idea of what I'm up against.
