I had my spare Zenith-Stromberg 175CD 2SE Overhauled. The original Zenith-Stromberg 175CD 2SE was overhauled by Kent Town Auto/Carby DSales and Service. They just took my money and did fuck-all. Float Bowl and Damper leaked as bad or worse, when I got it back. The car ran progressively worse. When I installed the overhauled spare carby, things improved.
I again changed the B21A Point/Condenser Distributor to a B21E Electronic type with the correct Ballast Resistor. I used B21A Distributor Weights/Springs/Vacuum Capsule, but the Advance Curve still was not correct -probably due to wear or mounting posts for springs were different. So, I had it "re-curved" to the B21A Engine Graph, provided by Bosch, who said it couldn't/shouldn't be done.
The car ran better but not 100%.
Today, I brought it to Specialty Tuning in Marion, SA, and the owner and his new "older" mechanic dynoed the car, finding that the mixture remained at 14.2:1 or so (lean) for the higher RPMs between 3000 and 4000. They reshaped the needle, to enrichen it in that range, dyno-ed the car, increased Timing to 12 degrees, and got 48.0 kilowatts at the wheels. The Owner's Manual quotes 78 or 79, but I suspect that is at the firewall or in a test cell, and not at the wheels. Still, not bad for a 24 years old car with 156,000 kilometers.
The car runs and accelerates much better.
I am curious to see what the mileage will be . . . as Premium is $1.40 9/10 per Liter, here!!!
