How many amps should the fuel pumps be pulling?

I've tried a couple of fuel pump relays in my '82 Volvo. They seem to be getting pretty warm and then cutting out. Interestingly enough, when the pumps cut off, the contact is still being made on the relay. ---I hooked it up without the cover on it. I've tried to resolder them, but didn't have much luck. The relay works for a few minutes, then cuts out. I'm thinking that the pump(s) may be pulling too many amps.

Does someone know how many amps the pumps should be pulling? Or any other ideas?

Thanks.
