Hello. 1986 240 Sedan Stick Shift Non Turbo. About a week ago I noticed that it was sounding louder than normal. So i checked underneath and I have exhaust leaks. Leaks are in 2x spots. Smaller leak is a small hole and is in the drivers side pipe coming down from exhaust manifold. It is just before the 2X pipes from exhaust manifold become one. Bottom of car. Parallel to street. The other larger leak is a few inches further back. It is a paper thin crack which is about 1/2 way around pipe.
Ok. So now my questions : #1 Is there any thing that can be used to seal up these leaks that actually really works ? #2 If I do have to replace this pipe what is best source for replacement that would be exact fit ?
Another thing that may be odd is that pipe in question goes from exhaust manifold all the way to a bit past middle of car where it clamps onto Catalytic converter. My '87 240 auto non turbo sedan has a muffler(resonator?)before its catalytic converter and it only has one pipe not two going up to exhaust manifold. Both cars are as I got them. Not sure if either is original set up but doubth it as probably over nearly 20x years both have been worked on. So my final question is : #3 What is the correct setup/confiquration for my car ?
Thank you in advance for your help & advice & info on this matter.
