Found an aftermarket alternative for rear shocks -- V90 S90-V90

Hurray! There's finally an aftermarket alternative to our rear shocks! I know some people were waiting to hear my findings, so here they are: Monroe Sensa-Trac part #5979 is the new (and as far as I can tell, the only) aftermarket alternative for V90. According to Monroe's web site, part #5978 is for S90 sedans. These are replacement for NON-Nivomat rear shocks.

Aftermartket Nivomat replacements are available from Monroe as well. However their web site says that the part number will change soon, so you'll have to look that up when/if you need some.

I got a pair installed on my wife's V90 tonight, and I can say that they work very well. Actually, in truth, I can't say yet if they are great or not, but they do indicate how badly worn the OEMs were on this car. It used to actually "sit back" on acceleration, and body roll was excessive. On my way home, I found myself oversteering on one of those loopy offramps, because I was used to previously having the car lean hard (causing it to push and slightly understeer) in turns.

There was a no-labor charge at Sears, so it cost me about $80 for the pair (oddly, that's what NAPA wanted to charge per shock!). Would've been about $110 installed without the sale.

This might make a good update for the FAQ. Can someone pass it up to the guy who runs it?
