Hello all.
I bought some poly torque rod bushings from Suspension Restoration. I needed to remove the old bushings completely and then press the two halves in on each side of the rod and then theres a tube that slides through the center where the attaching bolt will go. The bushings will press in easily by hand. These are like some I've seen pictures of that IPD or FCP (not sure) sells.
What keeps the rod from sliding side to side on the tube? The original bushings kept the rod centered, these don't. Does it matter if it wanders. I'm thinkig that even it it moves all the way to one side it won't actually have metal to metal contact because there is a lip at the side of the poly bushings. The lip might get torn up over time though if the side of the bushing makes contact with the mounting tabs.
Also, should I use some type of lube or are poly bushings self lubricating?
Thanks for any advice.
