rear bumper compatibility 200 1989

I have a 1989 240 sedan with a bad rear bumper (don't all of us in the rust belt?). We seldom talk about all of the smart things Volve engineers did, since we only need help with the mistakes they made. One mistake was bolting an aluminum bumper to steel supports (pistons) with big steel bolts. Aluminum and steel don't like each other (or maybe it's that they like each other too much) and there is an electic reaction which slowly eats the aluminum. So my bumer failed all around where the bolts go through. I think there was a minor accident which helped the process in my case too. I have reattached it with a bolt through the fourth (previously unused) hole in each side, which is OK for now, but not enough for long term.

So my question is whether the design of the aluminum bumper iteself changed over the years and if it was different for sedans and wagons. I know that the bumper covers and trim can be different. Anyone with any knowledge or experience with this will help me if I ever see a better one at the pick-n-pull.

Thanks in advance, as always.
