Play in exhaust system 200

How much 'play' should there be in a 240's exhaust system? Mechanic says that all is well, but there seems to be quite a bit of movement from the cat-back. On hard acceleration I can actually feel the system bang up against the under carriage. Also happens when I brake hard. Thinking combination broken exhaust hangers and motor mounts that are due for replacement.
