1st and 2nd gear problems 200 1991

1991 244 with M47 and a fairly new clutch (last 18 months).

So my girl is having lots of problems getting into first and second gear. Generally I have no problems getting from 2 to 3 and never have any problems from 3-4 or 4-5. But it take a strong arm to get the car into 1 or 2. It also grinds a little getting into Reverse. The thing is it is not an every day thing. sometimes I will get in and have no problems, then later that day it is all hell. There does not seem to be a pattern.

The clutch pedal does seem very very close to the floor much closer than it was when I bought the car 9 months ago.

Please help me out, I have a 500 mile trip in 2 weeks.
