Alternator Diodes Are Where ? 900 1996

Are the Diodes built into the Voltage Regulator or are they in the Alt housing on my 96' 964 W/125k miles (Bosch Alternator 0 123 500 006) (BOSCH Regulator 1 197 311 211) It seems that my 94' 855 W/105k miles is putting out (car running)14.49v, and my 96' 960 is only putting out 13.8, I lost a 2 yr old OEM Volvo battery (shorted ?) bought in 2003 for $110.00, now $53.00 (pro rated) All the wiring (+/-) has been tested with an DMM with good result's. It would seem like I should be reading more like 14...something, anything better than 13.8 & Reving it up doesn't help it any either ! Light's,RWDefogger,A/C-Heater, AKA Loads...They all have their fun while the alt just puts 13.8 back into the battery ! Im willing to a brush/regulator change but if the diodes are inside the frame, I've never put new ones in a Bosch Alt before. Any thought's before I do something Irrational ? Hahaha Thank's, Dub's
BTW, Thanks to RULE 308 for providing me info on the testing i was doing !
