Hello all,
My 92 245 with 172,000 miles no longer passes the jiggle test. I've owned it for it's last 20,000, and it has always passed before.
Flametrap is new, all hoses and intake nipple are clear, so I thought the breather box was plugged. Nope, I can blow through it and I also poured a quart of motor flush through it, and let that do it's thing and changed the oil. No change.
This engine gives no indication of excessive wear, it's tight, does not smoke, does not burn oil, has plenty of power and runs great.
When I got the car it came with records that showed regular dealer care, and the upper valvetrain looked clean. I've given it nothing but Mobil-1 synthetic and Mann filters for the 2 years I've owned it.
I'm open to suggestions, what do you guys think?
