I probably shouldn't be asking this, with all of the electrical problems on this B30F. I haven't touched the car in a month and it ran fine when I last ran it. We'vd all heard that one before :)
Started the car and it was loping and not firing on all cylinders. Hard to imagine a big 6 cylinder shaking from side to side. I increased the rpm to about 800 from less than 500, hoping to "burn" off the plugs and help it settle down. More and more gas pedal was needed to keep the rpm constant, unitl it died after about 2 minutes of running.
No start from that point forward.
Repeated the procedure this morning, this time with the air cleaner off, and the same results. Ran for a couple of minutes and then flooded itself to death.
New plugs, but probably very dirty by now.
New plug wires.
New dist cap and rotor.
New coolant temp sensor.
30 year old harness.
Starter motor works very well!
