Okay, so I failed my emissions test for excessive NOx. Various other gasses were well below the limits. I've searched for causes on this, and know the various possiblities. The inspector suggeted I check the EGR valve, which of course, I don't have (no accounting for his brightness). What I'm wondering is how much of an improvement I might expect to come from a tankful of super.
I know I should be running 91 octane according to the owner's manual, and I have been running 87. I also understand the reasoning behind lowering NOx by running higher octane gas. I don't expect anyone necessarily to be able to quote me numbers (just in case, though, I got a 3.54 with a 3.00 limit). I'm just wondering vaguely how effective running super might be.\
