Howdy. Tonight, after working all day on my 86 245, I got in my 90 744GL and noticed going uphill, under load, it is spark knocking/pinging badly. I just bought this car recently, and have had to do some work to it as it has been sitting for a few months. It is N/A, automatic, 320,000 miles. Runs great with mew fuel pump and belts/hoses and battery. I have noticed its hard to start at times, and will idle fine til you touch the gas, then it stalls. It usually does this consistently until warmed up a bit. This is the first time I have had it on the road, and I want to correct the problem before it damages something. The noise is loud, like its overheating, though it is not. Any ideas? Thanks.
