T or F: Combustion temp rises with coolant temp.
How much correspondance is there really between coolant temp and combustion temp? In my recent emissions retest (high NOx), one mechanic told me I should warm the car up thoroughly on the highway with cardboard in front of the radiator (I had read that elsewhere, and another, the guy who did the inspection, said I wanted the engine cooler, and cranked the heat when he did the test.
I'm thinking combustion temps would be pretty much constant, regradless of coolant temp.
