Hard start after sitting overnight - was choke cable sheath slipping 120-130

'66 122 B18D dual SU

The float bowls both were about half full. The fuel filter (glass cylinder type) was a little dirty so I put in a new filter element. Then I did what should have been done first -- stuck my head under the dash and pulled on the choke knob. The rubber sheathing had broken on one of the cables, allowing the steel sheathing to move along with the cable wire.

After reclamping a bit tighter the cable seems to be operating okay. The car fired right up after sitting overnight!

Then I found that upon deactivation of the choke cable, the jets were sticking and not returning back up into the carb. A quarter can of carb cleaner and a bit of PBlaster got them working again.
