93 Volvo shutting off

1993 850 Think I might be in the wrong forum- if so can you direct me plesse

I have a 93 non turbo volvo. (145,000) At times it will just shut off- like it is not getting fuel first and then all the panel lights will come on. Drift to the side of the road and in about 1 minute it will start up may shut off again or may go for days. Is more prevelent when gas is below 1/2 tank, when the outside temperature is hot (defineitely shuts off more) and when I make several stops where i shut the car down for maybe 5 minutes and then jump back in it and go. I get no error/code lights/service lights that remain on . any ideas?
