At long last I'm finally getting my sedan back from my brother after about three years of him borrowing it. My brother kinda sucks, besides most of the trim being broken, and interior plastic being broken, and a long overdue oil change, the car seems ok. But the main reason I'm asking for advice is that the driverside tailight assymbly won't light up except for the turn signal, I already tried cleaning and replacing bulbs, but wasn't able to run electrical tests because i saw this problem last weekend while he still had it and i didn't have any tools with me. The car will be delivered tonight, and i hope to start driving it soon because my poor wagon needs a break. One thing about the bulbs in the assymbly, the don't blow in a normal way, they turn a milky white on the inside before they go usually he said, he had a few bulbs as proof, but now nothing seems to happen. I assume there is a leak somewhere that is letting water in, but that is just a guess. What's a good way to rememdy this? Should i assume that the whole assembly needs to be replaced, where else should i look? Thanks in advance. By the way, it is a 1989 240 dl, about 130,000, otherwise a great car.
