crack in cylinder head 740 700 1991

my beloved 740 (b230) 150,000 miles -

I just discovered a small hairline crack on the cylinder head, near one of the bolts which attaches the timing belt plastic shroud, immediately above the water pump. There is no (as yet) sign of oil in the coolant.

question - am I looking at the slow death of my cylinder head?
