M46 bellhousing on M47 700

Project idea, just getting info so I know what is possible and what is not. All my 700 cars are AW equipped - no hands-on with manual.

I already found info that the P-type OD does not easily bolt where a J-type used to be.

Can the bell housing from an M46 be used on the M47 transmission? It is not for a red engine so the correct M47 bell does me no good.
