Hi,
The headliner in my '88 740 wagon was sagging so badly that it obscured my view out the rear window. I tried spraying glue in some of the tears and sticking it back up, but that didn't really work.
A few days ago, I was trying to back out the driveway... I looked in the rearview mirror, and it seemed like I had curtains covering the rear window! So I figured I'd just tear out the cloth and see what was underneath. Big Mistake!
Now the ceiling foam is all over the car and it feels like I'm driving around inside a giant sponge...
What to do? The headliner panel looks like a large piece of plywood or pressboard, and I have to get it out of the car, so I can figure out some way to 'finish' it and cover up the foam.
Can I slide it out the rear hatch? Or should I just sacrifice the whole thing and cut it out of the car?
To complicate matters further, I have a moon roof (which appears to be leaking nicely, but that's another posting...)
