Inproving gas milage?

Got an 85 245ti with an automatic behind it. The car is pretty much stock, athough the wastegate has been turned up a bit. (not by me) Mechanically, the engine is in very good shape, just had new rings / bearings in it and a rebuilt head. Everything seems to be in good shape (new plugs, tunes, timing right, etc) but I was wonding if anyone has ideas on how to impove gas milage. Not sure what I'm getting now, haven't owned it long enough, but would like to get it as good as reasonably possible. Assuming all the simple things (tire pressure, alighnment, etc) are done, what else do you guys think might be done?
Thanks ~ John
