Overdrive - strange behavior 700 1986

Car is the '86 740T. Lately I have been have some odd shaking when in OD. The OD engages quickly and smooth every time. But what seems to be happening is if I slow to say 50mph about 2,200 rpm, I get a mild to strong vibration and lugging feel. As soon as I shift out of OD. Problem is gone. I can re-engage right after with no issues. Never has happened at higher speeds. The other morning, I was at about 58mph and coasting down hill on the freeway, as I tried to accelerate the engine revved but no go. Like a slipping clutch. Once again, I shifted out and later back in of OD and no more issues. With 224,000 miles is this the signs of a worn out OD? I have changed the fluid with type F about 10,000 ago. Should I do a seal and gasket rebuild? I have access to a low mileage ( 130K) 240 non turbo OD.

Any ideas or hints is appreaciated in advance.Thanks.

Mike
