Electricks... 120-130 1967

Hello All:

1967 Volvo 122S Wagon. Just a few quick electrical questions:

- I am putting in a new foot hi-lo beam switch that I got from Swedish Classics. I know, you all prefer the stalk conversion. Sorry, I like stomping the darn thing. Anyway, the old unit was round with three slots in the top that allowed you to insert the wires and secure them with screws within the unit; the new unit looks similar but there are spades coming out of the top. With the round floor "well" in which these beasts are intended to live the spades prevent the unit from seating properly. Has anyone installed one of these yet? Did you just bend the spades? I fear it might not give enough "purchase" for the crimped wire connectors, and once I bend them I cannot return the unit. Let me know.

- I did replace those little square-nut holders in the floor under the switch "well" with new ones. Of course, this resulted in removing the rubberized protection that had been sprayed over the bottom of the car to keep the water out. What do you use to reseal this barrier?

- For some odd reason, sometimes when I get on the brake and the lights are off, the dashboard light and my parking lights come on. When I get off the brake, they turn off. This is intermittent, and I am by no means a fan of Meatloaf. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Jeff Pucillo
