Check Engine Light keeps coming back 200 1990

My 1990 volvo 240DL was consider gross polluter with high HCM and CO2. I took it to the mechanic and he replace the Fuel Regulator. The car is running fine but the check engine ligh keeps coming back. I removed the 25amp and reset it after 15 minutes and it went away but came back after couple of days. What else do I need to check..
