When I got the car, the left side bottom lens was damaged. I used red tape for a temporary fix and it is about shot, cracking and losing color.
FromeBay I bought, cheap, a replacement body. It was cheap because it has no turn signal lens (clear type) but the rest of the lamp is OK.
The plan is to take the lamp on the car and remove the clear turn signal lens and install it on the eBay unit. Voila! a proper tail light!
But, there's this problem: Getting that hard-to-find clear turn signal lens off the current lamp without any damage. Unfortunately it is not the same size (taller) as the back-up light lens.
With the lamp off the car, I should be able to get at the inside of the glue line.
Do you have any ideas on how to get that lens off? Heat? Freezing? Solvent? Careful prying?
Thanks for any and all responses,
Bob
