Radio Placement 200

My '84 240DL's radio placement way down low is a safety faux pas in my mind. Is there a kit or an easy way to move it to the top as in newer models? My dash clock doesn't work in cold weather, so I need to take my eyes off the road to see the time on the aftermarket jukebox. I either move the radio or the shifter... At least the satelite radio display is higher. I'm off now to install an auxilliary 'power point' so that the power cord for the XM doesn't hang in front of the heat control. Sure wish I knew what I was doing.
