I just did a search on resistance values for plug wires. According to another enthusiast, a plug wire should have a value of approximately 1 to 1.5k Ohms. My cheap Autolites, $13.99 at Kragen, measure 6.5k Ohms.

I became suspicious and went to Autozone and checked their Bosch Premiums @ $49; they, too, measure 6.5k Ohms.

I did a search for plug wires (thanks for that feature!) and found where others had similar problems as I have with intermittent spark. They purchased Bougicords and the resistance is around 1k Ohm.

I'll purchase some better wires and post what happens.
