Well, I decided to tackle my seats this afternoon. The car is running well and I don't have any extra money to spend for some parts that I know that I need, so I thought I'd put some sweat equity into the old girl.
I started with the passenger's seat and had great success. Moving on to the driver's side, I decided to take pictures to post. This is in much worse condition than the passenger's side, so the repairs should be interesting. Here is a link to the pictures I have taken so far.
It is late, so I am knocking off for the day. Tomorrow I will continue with the repairs and will post more pics. I will need to locate a couple of springs and a lumbar support. I may try to fabricate something for the support, the goal being free repairs.
As far as repairing the seat structure, I liked the idea of turnbuckles. OK, so maybe I won't get this done for free, but at least I can shoot for cheap and readily available.
Eventually, I may get some new foam and at that time, I will also replace the lumbar support.
