Today I went to the pick and pull yard in order to trade in a piece of door trim that I bought several months back. I just now decided to put it on and when I looked at it it appeared to be black in color. The pre-existing trim that's on the bottom of my door looks dark gray (the 3" trim at the bottom of the door).
When I went into the shop I asked if I can trade it in I was told that there's only one color - Black, so I reluctantly took the new piece that they gave me and thought that if I scrubbed the trim with a brillo pad and did some polishing with Maguires then the other stuff would turn black and match. After a trip to an auto parts store and $30 (adhesive tape, Maguires and adhesive remover) later I do indeed have a black piece with all the other pieces being gray. Or maybe I'm crazy.
So my question is this: Is trim on 240s indeed gray (my cars paint is the graphite color) on all models or do they come in gray and black? Or maybe black is found on 740s? Below is a link to a pic of the two pieces of trim. Tell me what you see. Am I doing something wrong in my detailing procedure?
