I promise to quit asking questions in a month or so once I get everything figured out... ;-)
I know all about the Bendix/ATE big rotor/small rotor stuff going on with these cars. I put my summer wheels on the 940 today so I grabbed my IPD catalog to see what I had on the car. The rear is definately ATE. The fronts, well my front calipers look more like the Girling calipers but are stamped 'Volvo.' They have the single center slot as shown for the Girling calipers. Did Girling make them with a Volvo stamp on them for say an OEM application? I got enough rust off the left to get the following numbers-1551/4 and also a CN2... as the rest was unreadable. I did get a number off the pad and that was DB 8019 FE. Also, the caliper has one bleed valve.
As for the rotors, IPD shows a 10¼", 11" and 11¼" rotors. Eyeballing with a straight edge and a ruler I came up with a 10 7/8" diameter so I'm guessing I have 11". The studs are pressed into the hub as opposed to being pressed into the rotor itself.
The number I got off the rotor is-Volvo 6848002 1625 9W141 MIN TH 23MM
What exactly do I have on this car for front brakes??
Rear brakes are new rotors & pads and new right caliper and front pads will need changing in a couple of months so I want to get parts ordered.
