battery light brightly on 200 1981

my battery idiot light glows brightly; I have been disconnecting the negative cable, but want to solve this.

replaced battery, replaced fuses, cleaned up wiring in centre console (overdue), same thing. Replaced black wire end on alternator. Connections are tight and good.

door locks don't work with #1 fuse good - rear wiper does work. Any thoughts appreciated.
