Low oil pressure 700 1988

Just a quick question. Could low oil pressure be caused by a bad seal on the dipstick tube? I ask because i noticed a clack at 2000+ rpms and had the car towed home. after it was parked for a while, waiting for the tow, i noticed a puddle under the car and traced it to this the point where the tube plugs into the oil pan. seemed like a coincidence to me, but thoguht i would ask.
