Instrument cluster swap 700 1987

I am installing the entire interior of a 1990 740 turbo in my 1987 740GL I also wanted to swap out the instrument cluster but I noticed that they are not exactly the same. Has anyone here done this and can tell me where to make the connections.
My car has lower mileage than the donor car should I attempt (don't know how) to change the reading in the instrument cluster that I want to install?
