center driveshaft bushing, and new quarter panel 200 1982

what up, i'm new to the brickboard, but have had the volvo bug for years. i'm on my third 240, and had a 960 wagon... i need any info anyone can give me on testing my center bushing where the driveshafts connect to eachother. i dont know how difficult it should be to move the shafts up and down. i guess the only way i can describe the way it feels now is spongy. should i be able to move it at all? also, my friends little bro backed a huge 4x4 down the side of my car and DESTROYED my driver's side quarter panel. so now i need to know where to find a new one to cut off, or a new stamped piece to weld on (please.) also, dont forget its the dreaded 2 door, and a junkyard doesn't seem to be a viable option. would appreciate all help from people, cause how am i supposed to cruise for chicks with the side of my car caved in and a driveshaft beating on the under carriage? much love to all the volvo people everywhere, look for me breaking speedlimits throughout south carolina
