Hello All,
Unfortunately, I must replace my front header pipe and after inspection, it looks like my cat is still good.
However, the studs for mounting the front pipe to the cat appear to be fixed in the cat flange, and likely part of the original assembly. Replacement of the front header pipe will probably require cutting the mounting nuts off with my dremel tool. By the looks of things, I probably will have to cut the studs off too. If so will I be able to drill out the remainder of the stud on the cat flange or are these hardened steel.
I don't have a torch, just my handy dremel tool with small cutoff wheels. Any tips on this before I get in over my head would be welcome. I've been spraying the nuts on the exhaust manifold and cat with PB blaster for a few days now. I've not done this job before, so I'm trembling a bit.
Marty
