I've seen mentions of silicone sealant on water pumps being unnecessary. I'm replacing mine tonight or tomorrow. I had the radiator rodded, repaired and found a small weeping hole on the water pump housing. It's time to replace it.
Are there any odd steps to replacement? I don't have a new thermostat, I will replace next week. Should I use any sort of silicone sealant on the pump seals? Everything I've seen here says no, but the parts house and install instructions recommend it. I went with the Bosch instead of the HEPU. Nobody carries the HEPU in town and overnight shipping is as much as the pump.
TIA,
Will
