And to think the day started off so well....... 200 1986

Today in the mail came my HD fan clutch from Dave Barton. I thought to myself (not out loud, mind you) that slowly but surely, my pampered sedan is coming together. As I pulled out from under the carport, the car didn't want to stop like it normally does. Another press of the brake pedal as I got the car under the shade of a big tree in the driveway, went all the way to the floor....grunt, the master cylinder. Any way, I installed the fan clutch, turned the a/c on to check the new fan clutch and see how it would keep the temp needle on the guage. It never got high enough before I heard this loud hissing sound from the front of the engine compartment. A plume of compressed freon was venting 20 feet into the air from a small port just to the left of the site window of the dryer. I quickly turned the car off, but the remainder of the freon (R-134 forturnatly) had leaked out thru that small port. The question is, what caused this leak and what do I have to replace to make it correct. I had the system retro-fitted about 2 years ago and have had no problems until today. Of course we are expecting highs in the mid to low 90's for next week.....bummer. Oh, by the way, I did get the new master cylinder in without a hitch.

Thanks for any suggestions.
