1990 SW question on timing belt 200

the harmonic balancer broke and took out the timing belt as well. My question is how to make sure the shafts are back in the right position. My main doubt is with the crank shaft looking for different ways to tellif it is TDC on compression stroke .thanks for any help. Rich
