Can I replace front bottom seat cushion w/out removing seat? 700 1988

I have a replacement cushion with cover/leather already on, and I hoping I can just swap em out without removing the seat. Is this possible, or a bad idea? I've read the standard procedures, but I'm wondering if anyone knows any tricks to bypassing complete seat removal.....
