As people say the car paint's worst enemy is bird sh*t.
For the past 3 years since I have stopped using my 240 on long commutes I have my car parked 3-4 straight days per week directly below the power lines that run across the street to the houses.
As everybody who lives in a suburban area knows the power lines tend to attract birds who also tend to not to care where they sh*t (especialy on Spring and Summer times). I had my car sh*ted on almost every day in May. I had a talk with a friend and bringing this subject he mentioned that the best possible way to scare birds away was to use a special reflective ribbon tape that will be tied somewhere nearby. However climbing a pole and Installing a couple of "flash" tape ribbons was not an option.
Thinking about this I did the following things:
1.) When I park my car I install a "Reflective" sun-shade screen on the front windshield.
2.) I have 2-3 CD laying on the rear deck with the Reflective surface facing UP directly bellow the rear window.
So far 2 weeks have passed and I haven't seen a single bird dropping even though my car is parked almost directly bellow the power lines. This seems almost too good to be true.
I was wandering if any people had similar experiences or knew of any solutions to the problem.
FYI : Statistics show that the cars that get sh*ted the most are White in color.
