My fuel pump started acting up (bucking, snorting) so I ordered a couple of used pumps from Blake's Small Car Salvage near here and had them shipped to me. I went to install them today, and the main pump for under the car that they sent was labeled '82 Turbo 240. It had the wrong size fitting, so I cut the old hose between the accumulator and the pump off and even the barb fittings were not the same size. So I scrambled around parts stores and finally found a barb fitting at ACE Hardware that I could use in my modified fitting. So I installed it and it started fine.
On to the in-tank pump. This one was so wrong that I can't modify it to fit, so I have to run down there, about an hour's drive, take my old in-tank pump back for an exchange so I can get the car running again.
Sheesh, these cars have looked the same for what is it, 20 years? And I can't get parts that fit? I'll ask if I can get my shipping back, since I had to go down there anyway.
