Clutch pedal problems 120-130 1966

I have just changed my clutch slave, master, and flexible hose. I have bled the system and adjusted the rod at the slave to disengage the clutch almost immediately. I find that the pedal depresses some distance before the clutch begins to disengage. Engaging is almost immediate as I release the pedal.

How do I get the clutch to engage and disengage without having to push the pedal all the way to the floor? What have I done wrong?
