O2 sensor 200 1987

Has anyone tried using a single wire (unheated - and much less $$$) O2 sensor in their car that normally uses the heated three wire sensor?

I am thinking of trying to use one of these in both my 87 244 and my 87 745. I know there is some problem with unheated sensors in winter - particularly when the sensor is located in the exhaust pipe, but both of these vehicles have the sensor located just past the exhaust manifold in a good hot location.
