O2 sensor 200 1987

Hi Jim,

Actually, over the years I've seen one or two posts where the Bosch unheated ($17) sensor was substituted in LH2.2 cars like yours. There's no codes, adapting, or check engine lights to complain. The location is identical (for exhaust heating) as it was on unheated LH2.0 systems ('83 and early '84), so its performance once warm will be nearly the same. I thought it was a reasonable move.

I wouldn't say the same for later systems with sensors further along the downpipe.

Always keep several get well cards on the mantel. If unexpected guests arrive, they'll think you've been sick and unable to clean.
