Oops...that was RIGHT FRONT power window WOES...please respond here! 900

My 93 944 has 300k plus miles. The passenger side window goes down, but takes a lot of fiddling to get it back up again. I usually drive around for awhile and maybe lower it minutely and then rock the switch to try to get it go up. Eventually, after a few minutes it works. I don't want to open the window for the fear I won't be able to get it closed. It does not make a sound when I try to close it and it fails. It sounds normal when it works. At first I thought it had to be the switch.

This does not seem to be a switch problem. It does the same thing from the door as well as the driver's door panel. It seems to me that it might be a motor failure. I had the same problem with a Dodge minivan and it those it is a common failure.

I don't want to waste a lot of time diagnosing the problem if someone else has already dealt with it.

-is it the motor?
-are motors interchangeable between regulators?
-would a used motor be a good way to go?
-can I get a motor from another window position or model?
-why did the passenger side go? It never get's used. Weird huh?
-is there any repair possible to the motor, like brushes?

Open to any ideas you may have. I'd like to get on it right away.

Thanks in advance for your response,

Mark
