Lights gone crazy 700 1985

My 1985 740 GLE got a new battery. Every since, the flashers have gone bezerk. When I turn on the emergency flashers the High beam headlights flash and are dim. When I turn on the left flasher, everything is fine. When I turn on the right flasher the high beam alternate blinks with the flasher. When I turn on the High beams the low beams are off on both sides. Help! Oh yeah, I checked the connections on the rear lights and they are okay. Also, the bulb failure light comes on and off with the right flasher
