960/S90 Vibration at speed... I'm leaning towards the driveshaft center bushing ... 900

98 S90, 78,700 miles.

I've got a vibration in the driveline (that doesn't appear to be suspension or engine related).

Most noticeable at about 65 mph, and gets worse as speed increases, almost goes away when driving below 65 mph.

Gearshift lever vibrates forward & backward, vibration is felt thru the floorpan (not the steering wheel or the brakes). If I back off the gas, the shifter stops vibrating but I can still feel the vibration in the floorpan (above 65 mph).

I am not getting any unusual noises.

It has been getting worse lately.

I checked the trans mount and it moves some (about 1/4" maybe, but It's hard to tell becaue the entire
engine/trans moves when you put enough pressure on it).

I can move the center support bushing around quite a bit. (moreso than the trans mount) I would estimate at least 3/8" in any direction.

I am leaning towards the vibration being caused by a sloppy driveshaft center support bushing.

Anyone else deal with this issue, what was your solution?

Seams like putting in a new (hopefully stiffer) bushing and leaving the original support bearing should be fine. There's no noises when I move it by hand but the bushing deflects quite a bit.

All thoughts are appreciated.
